I've always been a hockey fan but this year I'm particularly captivated by the Stanley Cup playoffs. It seems like every game is scrappy, gritty, balls to the wall exciting. The underdogs keep winning. Plus, there are an abundance of great playoff beards and I love me a good playoff beard.
The one thing that, while fascinating, has been a bit of an onion in the ointment this year is the post-game rioting that's been going down in Montreal. I have a theory about the whole thing and it involves that "Ole Ole Ole Ole" cheer that the Montreal faithful break into whenever things go their way. Now, this is a fine way to support the team, but it's a Euro soccer cheer. So my theory is that because Canadiens fans cheer like Euro soccer (sorry futbol) fans, they're more prone to soccer hooliganism.
Just saying.
